What are the advantages of buying bespoke curtains?

Ready made curtains come in standard widths and drops. Unfortunately not every window is standard so more often than not you will have to settle for them shorter or longer than you want and perhaps not so full. The fullness of a curtain is important because it allows the curtains to have body even when they are closed. Harpers provide curtains that will fit exactly to the individual window ensuring the best fit possible.

My bedroom curtains are very flimsy and light streams through, what fabric do I use and how do I avoid this happening?

All sorts of fabrics can be used for making curtains and generally in a bedroom the trend is to go for a lighter weight fabric which has less bulk. However, even lighter fabric can have body and the blackout qualities of heavier fabrics by using the appropriate lining fabric. We would interline your curtains and use a black out lining thus ensuring your curtains not only keep out the light but last for years.

Buying curtains is such an important thing to get right and I don't want to get it wrong, how can Harpers Limited help me?

You're right  - choosing your curtains is important and can really impact your finished room. With over 900 fabric choices plus the multiple ways to use more than one fabric at a time there will definitely be something to suit all projects. Harpers can help you not only decide on the colour and design of the fabric but can also advise on the best style for the room, the most suitable length and choice of lining. When the job is completed we will gather and hang the finished item. We take out all the worry and make sure you get a fantastic result.

I have a study that doubles up as a spare room. I don't want to spend a lot of money on window dressing - what do you suggest?

Roman Blinds are a fantastic alternative to curtains and most fabrics are suitable, however, the amount of fabric required is considerably less. Depending on the window in question these can be fitted inside the window frame close to the glass or outside the frame if the windows tilt in.  For this situation Harpers would suggest a simple contemporary look for the office/study look and possibly contrasting cover and cushions for the bedroom look.
